A while back I was out feeding the alpacas when the power company meter reader drove up. We exchanged the typical "hows things" small talk and he found the animals to be interesting. "Are they those pacaderms?" he asked. "Well", I said, "they are alpacas, a close cousin to the Llama, we raise them for their fiber, and they have a fairly short nose". He was a very nice fellow and hopefully didn't take offense at my attempt at humor. Time to scoop poop!
